A Registered Massage Therapist has completed a two-year course totaling 2200 hours of class and clinical time. Anatomy, physiology, massage techniques, and clinical testing are a few of the courses a therapist must complete.
Upon graduation, the therapist does both written and practical exams with the College of Massage Therapists. If successful, they become licensed by the Province under the Regulated Health Professions Act (RHPA).
A Registered Massage Therapist is one of 23 professions associated with the Regulated Health Professions Act along with Doctors, Chiropractors and Physiotherapists.
